Writing Toward a Brighter Future

About Us
Here at AnotheR Tomorrow Foundation, we are driven to do our part in making the world a better place through our life changing projects. We explore, promote and support the oral and written literary works of Lesotho writers and create opportunities for potential collaborations, inspiring, attracting and retaining skills and partners in Lesotho’s creative industry and the world beyond.
Our main focus is the languages, skills strengthening, increasing the local arts provisions, promoting freedom of expression and working with young people. We aim to promote literature and the translation of literary works, reading, writing preservation, publication, and performances of oral and written literature in all the languages of Lesotho.
We provide opportunities for aspiring, emerging, and established writers and literary translators, by facilitating interaction, exchange and collaboration between writers across the different media and artists in other disciplines as well as writers from other parts of Africa and the world.
Since 2018, we have taken part in a wide range of activities that promote reading and writing amongst our peers. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.

The Focus of Our Efforts
Stimulating creativity is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to to collect and compile the literary works of Lesotho writers into Anthologies, Liaise and cooperate with local, national, regional and international bodies involved in the funding, promotion, distribution and development of writing and literature. We cater for all Lesotho writers regardless of age, race, gender identity, religion, educational background, pregnancy, disability, medical condition (HIV status/cancer-related), ancestry or marital status.
We aim to protect our writers’ rights, including intellectual property rights, the right to freedom of expression and creativity, advocate and contribute to national policies aimed at making literature in all the languages of Lesotho accessible to the public; and do whatever is deemed necessary and take appropriate action to promote oral and written literature in all the languages of Lesotho
In regard to working with young people, we aim to introduce and promote the writing and reading culture among teenagers both in school and out of school, have youth representatives among our board members and encourage establishment of junior committees of the organisation’s members at High school level.
Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the quality of our literary content. Learn more about what we do below.

Writing Contests
The Inky Spaces Campaign
Inky Spaces Campaign is a creativity stimulating project that aims to strengthen writers’ skills, improve their artistic portfolios, increase local arts and literary content, and protect the writers’ creative works and the right to freedom of expression.
Through this project we run online short story contests, organize public reading events, organize camping and writing fellowships, and publish anthologies. Our online short story contests offer a much-desired platform for writers to showcase their creativity and talent.
